The holiday season is here and typically around this time hosting and attending weekly parties becomes part of my schedule. I love to host but that typically can be a lot of work so it’s always nice to be invited over by a friend for a nice cocktail or gathering of friends. I always like to bring something to share and my new go-to for this holiday season is going to be this Marinated Feta Holiday Platter.
At parties it’s always nice to have options choose from so that you can go between salty and sweet. This platter is certainly the salty option but gives a nice option of cheese, olives, roasted red peppers and hummus to pair with pita chips or fresh pita wedges. You can quickly grab all of the ingredients on your way home from work and put this platter together in a snap!
The feta cheese is easy to prepare, especially with the help of Litehouse’s Freeze Dried Herbs. I used a combination of thyme and oregano and a dash of red pepper flakes for a little spice. I like to mix all of the herbs into the olive oil and then gently toss the cubes of feta cheese into the mixture. Be gentle about adding in the feta as it tends to be soft and can crumble easily. The feta should marinate for 2-3 hours before serving.
When you’re in a rut over an easy holiday appetizer, this is definitely a good option! Guests will love the salty cheese paired with a nice holiday cocktail or glass of wine and will be the talk of the party!
