Diving into Bacon and Blue Cheese Dip

Let’s take a minute and be honest with ourselves. Fall is here. The weather is here. That certain smell is in the air. And football has begun. Have you started to plan your party for the Big Game yet? I’m sure you have not but it’s time to start thinking about snacks to serve up at your weekly football watching party.

Let’s talk about some obvious fall football flavors: buffalo sauce, blue cheese and lots of chili. While I’m not necessarily about football, I am about the snacks that come along with the territory.

These are some of my favorite flavors to indulge in during the fall months and I can never get enough buffalo sauce. Here is some inspiration for this upcoming weekend: Buffalo Chicken Pockets Chipotle Barbecue Burgers with Slaw Buffalo Blue Cheese Hummus Let’s bring another football flavor into the equation: bacon. Nothing screams ‘man food’ more than bacon. Now pair that with some of Litehouse’s Simply Artisan Blue Cheese Crumbles and you’ve got the ultimate football snack. One of my favorite things about this recipe is that it is so quick and easy to make and full of robust flavors that you may want to consider making a double batch. I chose the Blue Cheese Crumbles for their rich and creamy texture and a more complex flavor for this dip. Pairing this with a peppered bacon and hot sauce gives a spicy kick to the dip with a creamy finish. The dip is best served with carrot and celery sticks or pretzel chips.

I’m sure I’m not the only person that has been fighting the reality of fall but I do know that fall weather brings in some delicious flavors and comfort foods. I would encourage you to step outside of the box and create some new, delicious recipes to share with your family this fall football season and be sure to incorporate more blue cheese into the mix.
