With the holiday season behind us I’m not starting to think about how I can get healthier in January. Every year I question why I overindulge at Christmas but with a few little changes I can easily get my body back on track.
One of the biggest transitions is getting all of the sugar out of my system and transitioning from heavier foods to lightened meals.
I like to do a little bit of a detox in January to get all of the junk out of my system. I find that eating a lot of salads and steamed vegetables help to get my body back on track. There are a lot of great recipes right here on Living Litehouse that inspire me throughout the week.
One of my favorite lighter meals is potstickers. They can be really filling and 4-5 of them make a perfect meal. They are also super easy to make! There are a lot of different ways that you can fill them but I prefer a classic pork stuffing. Rehydrating the Freeze Dried Herbs allows you to dice them a bit smaller so that they are evenly disbursed between all of the potstickers. Placing a lid on the pan while you cook these will both steam and crisp up the bottoms of the potstickers, allowing you to use less oil.
As hard as it will be to break your body of the sugar and junk food cravings it won’t take too long until you start feeling the results. Start your new year out on a healthier note!
