Do you have brunch on Mother’s Day? This seems to be a pretty common tradition for the day we honor our mothers; although my family has never celebrated with a yearly brunch- I don’t know why! What better way to celebrate your mom then making her a delicious meal or taking her to a Mother’s Day brunch at a restaurant? I will definitely have to start the tradition this year for my mom.
When I was searching for local restaurants that host Mother’s Day brunches, the foods that were most commonly served were eggs benedict, smoked salmon, prime rib and mimosas. That sounds like a delicious menu to me!
What is a canapé you may ask? From the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word canapé means: an appetizer consisting of a piece of bread or toast or a cracker topped with a savory spread (as caviar or cheese).
Don’t let the fancy name fool you because these smoked salmon and blue cheese canapés are put together in fifteen minutes or less. The chunky bleu cheese is a subtle, but delicious addition to the traditional cream cheese spread on canapés. Litehouse herbs are always one of my favorite ways to add a lot of flavor with little effort!
